With its striking metallic iridescent colours, Cosmophasis thalassina is one of Australia's most visually spectacular jumping spiders. This species is an active and inquisitive hunter that enjoys exploring its enclosure while readily displaying the curious behaviour jumping spiders are loved for. One of the most distinctive behaviours seen in Cosmophasis is the abdomen (tail) bopping. These spiders rhythmically move their abdomens up and down as they move around. Thalassina is found all the way up the east coast of Queensland and throughout the top end of the Northern Territory. Size range is commonly 5-8mm.

- Primary substrate layer Coco peat
- Enrichment should be concentrated across the entirety of the enclosure
- Overlapping foliage with small nooks
- Feeding cups recommended
- Prey-to-body size ratio 1:4 up to 1:2 minus legs
- Feeding on crickets
- Bright lighting essential
- Aim to maintain around 50-75% humidity (higher end summer, lower end winter)
