Sandalodes superbus is the largest and most robust species within the genus Sandalodes. It is widely distributed throughout mainland Australia and Tasmania, where it is most commonly encountered on and beneath loose bark. Mature individuals can reach sizes of around 16mm, although Jump Lab has observed some exceptional females measuring up to 18mm. As with all jumping spiders, mature size can vary considerably. Their impressive build, confident temperament and striking patterns makes Sandalodes superbus one of Australia's most sought after species in captivity.

- Enclosure type is arboreal. Minimum dimensions 20cm x 12cm x 12cm
- Primary substrate layer Coco peat
- Bark pieces / curled bark is essential
- Enrichment should be concentrated across the entirety of the enclosure
- Feeding cups recommended
- Prey-to-body size ratio 1:4 up to 2:3 minus legs
- Feeding on crickets
- Well lit conditions while ensuring appropriate bark hiding places are provided
- No specialised humidity requirements. Moderate ambient humidity with regular light misting
